Sermon Passages: Ephesians 6:10-17

All Christians are called to spiritual warfare. It is the greatest battle we face. Yet too often we neglect to prepare well for the fight, falsely hoping to avoid it. But God wants us to do battle—to be light in the darkness, to fight in his strength, putting on the full armor of God so we'll be able to stand, and having done all, to stand firm and live a life that makes a difference and glorifies our Lord.

Sermon Passages: Ephesians 6:4

Humanly speaking parents are the most important influence in a child's life—for good or ill. It is a terrific responsibility. Our child will hear our voice and remember our words and actions, good or bad, in the years to come. Thus Scripture admonishes us not to provoke our children to anger, but rather to raise the children that God entrusts to us in the nurture and discipline of the Lord: sacrificing for them, training them well, and loving them...remembering always that love is not easily offended.
