SGC will have a choir on Resurrection Sunday, April 21. Children in first through sixth grade are welcome to participate in the children's choir and youth group and older who would like to participate will be in the adult choir.
Our next dedication ceremony will be Sunday, March 3, 2019. This ceremony gives parents an opportunity to commit before the Lord and the church to raise their children in “the discipline and instruction of the Lord” (Eph 6:4).
Run 4 Relief is a non=profit 5k run/walk event which will be held at Wake Med Soccer Park in Cary on Saturday, March 16. All proceeds will be donated to help orphans in Guatemala.
Join us Sunday mornings, beginning February 3, for our next discipleship class on Biblical Stewardship. The class is to help people develop convictions about their finances, learn some basic principles of budgeting, plan long-term with their finances, and think rightly about debt.

Living as a Christian Woman in a Post-Christian World
All high school ladies and older are invited to participate in our 2019 Women's Retreat, In the World But Not of It: Living as a Christian Woman in a Post-Christian World. Dr. Margaret Köstenberger is our guest speaker covering diverse and pertinent topics for today's Christian Woman:
- Session 1: The Three Waves of Feminism and How It Affects Us Today
- Session 2: Teaching the Next Generation About Being Women in a Feminist/Gender-Confused World
- Session 3: Living a Fruitful and Feminine Life as a Single Woman
As Christian women, we want to always be maturing in Christ! There are a variety of opportunities for women at Sovereign Grace Church to encounter God, enjoy fellowship with one another, and experience fresh vision for their lives.
Our calendar is filling up:
The two primary means of change in our lives as Christians are the Spirit of God and the Word of God. As we teach through the book of Acts this year on Sunday mornings we will have many opportunities to examine what it means to be “Men of the Spirit”.
Our men’s meeting will focus on growing as “Men of the Word”. Concerning the word of God Jesus said, “if you abide in my word you are truly my disciples.” Psalm 1 tells us that a Bible-saturated man will experience fruitfulness in his life. So the goal for the year in our men’s ministry is to instruct and encourage a lifestyle of abiding in God’s Word by reading, meditation, study, and application. May we join the Psalmist when he says in Psalm 119, “Oh, how I love your law (your testimonies, statutes, commandments, promises, precepts)!”
The Agua Viva 2019 Mission Trip has many events planned. Some are events for the team members and some are for the church to participate in.
Beginning in September, the women of SGC will continue to dig into God's Word.
Our text will be Colossians and Philemon and the guide is written by Kathleen Buswell Nielson.
Every Tuesday afternoon from 1:00-3:00 PM there will be people in room 103 praying.
You may come and go anytime during those hours. The first hour is more structured - praying for our world, our nation, our community, our church, our families and ourselves. We will try and primarily use scripture as we intercede in these areas. The second hour is more spontaneous.
Everyone is welcome! Hope to see you Tuesday.
(Please note: if the office is closed due to weather or observed holidays, the prayer meeting is canceled. Please check the church calendar.)
